An 8h flight delay from Shanghai kept me from exploring Hong Kong, but I still loved the little I saw.

2 years ago today!
Now that it’s been out for a while I hope people have taken the time to enjoy it in one sitting, as it was intended. Everybody focuses so much on singles these days so it was really rewarding to work on a long form project. I used to listen to it and take notes of where my mind would wander. I’d then go back in and either rework it or remove that section entirely until it kept my attention the entire time. You only get one debut album and I couldn’t be prouder. http://ift.tt/1N19YYk

Andre, I know you said this a while ago in your Q&A video on youtube, but are you still doing a Chapter Two, and if so is your mix to Sea Of Voices going to be in the album?1

I forgot how much I like writing dance music. I’ve been toying with a lot of other different genres for the past while so it’s really nice to return to something familiar. The subject matter is rather dark so I really wanted to re-iterate that and indulge in texture instead of making it huge. Check out my new remix of MORTEN’s ‘Beautiful Heartbeat’.

In case you missed it, my brand new song Magic Hour with Little Boots is now out everywhere!
For the past 6 months I’ve been putting out a song roughly every month. It’s been a really fun experiment and a very liberating experience musically. Not being tied to a genre or an album has allowed me to truly do whatever I want. I think this song mixes a lot of the different things I’ve been trying out. I truly hope you like it.

The 5th monthly single came out today. It’s called One House and features my longtime collaborator Troupe Gammage, frontman for SPEAK.
I’ve known Troupe since 2008 or so after I heard his Radiohead remix. We ended up playing numerous shows together and collaborated on a track from Strangers called “I Should’ve Guessed”. About a year ago he also joined the RAC live band, so this collaboration made even more sense.
There’s a lot of influences that went into this. 80’s synths, 90’s pop, maybe even some 00’s rock. What do you hear?
I’m really proud of this song and I truly hope you like it. As usual, this is an independent release, so if you’re into it, please share!
Thanks for all your support! <3

here are my kittens (very reluctantly) jamming out to my upcoming single.

Here’s my brand new remix for the great band ON AN ON. The original track is very moody and sparse. It plays with dynamics in order to create movement. Not unlike dance music, but in an entirely different context. I tried to take some of that fluidity and work with it in my own way. I played with octaves. The bass is only introduced in the chorus when the entire song shifts down. It goes back up for the verses and comes back down again for choruses. It’s an unorthodox structure for a song, so it gave me an opportunity to try some new ideas. I really hope you like it.

Here is my brand new song called 3am featuring the amazing Katie Herzig! I tried a lot of new ideas with this one. It’s partly an exercise in restraint but the choruses make up for that in a polar opposite way. I’m trying to play with the 2 ends of the spectrum and find some kind of middle ground in between them. There’s also something about pure silence that is refreshing. Everything these days is fighting for your attention by maximizing every second of the song. I’m trying the opposite. It’s also the closest I’ve ever gotten to a “drop”. I truly hope you like it. found.ee/3AM
As usual, if you like it, please share it. It helps me a lot.

Here is the brand new music video for Back Of The Car!
I’ve always felt that music videos are a great opportunity to make a short film. A surrealist and absurdist interpretation of the song really made sense to me. I think most people might interpret the song in a literal sense of a road trip, but Alex Karpovsky’s (from HBO’s Girls) vision struck me as really smart and inventive. The execution ended up being really funny, which is an angle I hadn’t explored yet. I’m also thrilled that Sasheer Zamata (from SNL) and Slutever were game to star in the video. Shoutout to the Vulture for premiering it.
I really hope you like it!

RAC is all geared up for a slew of festival dates soon, and in between that, all the remixes he thrills our ears with, and the production work he does on other acts’ music, Andre Anjos is unleashing a fabulous new original on us, too. Revel in the rich synthpop opulence of Can’t Forget You, which features guest vocals by Los Angeles based pop starlet Chelsea Lankes, also a much IHM praised talent. Chelsea Lankes and RAC is a heavenly union, delivering a weightless and slick blend of dance rock and electropop to soundtrack the memories left behind from summer’s glorious run. Snag the tune now, on iTunes.
