I was a little on the fence when this offer came in. I’ve done major label pop projects before, and I’ve certainly passed on a few, but something about Katy Perry was interesting. If she can’t take herself too seriously, why should I?

Hello everyone!
Today RAC turns 5.
On May 1st 2007, the very first remix came out. It was “Sleeping Lessons (RAC Mix)” for The Shins.
It’s certainly been a crazy ride and it’s grown beyond my wildest expectations.
In two days, a new chapter will begin. The very first original single will be coming out. I’m incredibly proud of this song and the forthcoming album.
You don’t get many shots at this, so I’m really really gonna need your help with this. If you like the song, share it with everybody you know. It’s free!
A lot of people work on their skills in isolation until they’re able to put out something they like. With RAC, it’s been a much more public journey. I sometimes cringe at some of the older material, but it’s all part of the process. A lot of you have heard the entire progression.
Just wanted to thank the RAC crew, Andrew Maury and Karl Kling. The Deckstar people, Joel, Julie and Matt for dealing with egos. Adam at Bond for showing us the world, and especially all of our fans that have made this life possible.

There’s something extremely satisfying about songs with very few chords. It sort of leaves a little more room for a vocal melody to really express itself. I recently got a “Guitarra Portuguesa” and this is the first song I used it on. Hope you like it!
